Kirsten has provided compliance leadership across various roles, from middle management to executive positions, implementing programs from the ground up, and enhancing existing ones into sophisticated, results-driven operations. Her extensive experience includes:

• Serving as a Medicare Drug Integrity Contractor (MEDIC) subcontractor and Subject Matter Expert (SME) to perform some of the first Compliance Program Effectiveness Audits of Medicare Parts C and D Plans to assist in managing CMS’ audit, oversight, and anti-fraud and abuse efforts.
• Providing services as an Interim Compliance Officer for a wide variety of health care entities such as academic medical centers, large health systems, critical access hospitals (CAH), DSH (DISH) hospitals and LTACs, skilled nursing facilities, for home care and hospice agencies, outpatient/ambulatory settings, independent physician clinics, and insurance companies and HMOs.
• As an experienced Privacy Officer, advises and assists clients with the interpretation of HIPAA Privacy regulations, breach risk assessments, policy and procedure development, and in responses to Office for Civil Rights (OCR) investigations.
• Provides leadership to health care organizations subject to Corporate Integrity Agreements (CIA) to bring existing internal operational controls into alignment with complex OIG obligations.
• Serving clients in over 20 states, offering insights into diverse regulatory environments.
• Developing innovative operational strategies to achieve specific corporate compliance goals.
