Our approach to Compliance Program implementation is unique! There are always 7 elements in a Compliance Program but there is a better, more efficient and successful methodology for execution than is generally accepted in the health care industry. No matter where you are in the spectrum of implementation, we have a distinct approach. Whether you are starting from scratch, have some pieces in place, or need to bolster a partially developed program, we can assist. If you don’t know where to start or what to do next, Wild Consulting can help. We have implemented programs from the ground up and supported countless others over the last 22 years for a wide range of health care entities. We have learned there is a more strategic and efficient method to the development of a sustainable program that we can share with you.

To assist health care entities in assessing the current status of their Compliance Program, we perform Compliance Program Effectiveness Reviews (or a gap analysis) based upon recommended guidances provided by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (“CMS”), and the Office of Inspector General (“OIG”) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (“HHS”).
Implementing a health care Compliance Program has, historically, been voluntary. In 2010 this changed with the passing of the Affordable Care Act which contained a provision that deemed Compliance Programs mandatory as a condition of enrollment in Medicare, Medicaid, and other federally funded health care programs. And, while CMS and the OIG have long acknowledged the criticality of organizations establishing an “effective” Compliance Program, no further requirements or guidance has been provided.
Wild Consulting has created a practical, evidence-based tool - a detailed assessment questionnaire - that incorporates regulatory guidances and other reputable industry best practice standards. Through the use of this tool, we perform a “Compliance Program Effectiveness Review” to evaluate your implementation of the seven (7) elements of a Compliance Program to determine if your current Program meets regulatory guidance and other industry standards.
The findings of the Effectiveness Review are summarized and presented in a Narrative Report, along with clear recommendations for corrective actions (Action Plan) to address any areas of identified deficiencies. Wild Consulting also summarizes your findings into a written Executive Summary and aggregates the findings into a Dashboard Report format to support presentation of the Effectiveness Review to senior leadership and/or your governing board.
Overall, the objective of the Effectiveness Review is to determine if your Program is helpful in achieving compliance with federal and state rules and regulations to protect your organization’s reputation and financial interests. The results of our Effectiveness Review assists your organization in aligning internal resources to streamline compliance operations, and to strategically move your Compliance Program forward.

Wild Consulting can serve in a meaningful capacity to provide practical mentorship to your role, or as a reliable compliance resource for a defined number of hours per month, to help meet your organization’s specific goals or to help with individual projects or initiatives, etc.
